A chiffon veil in the oval shape will spread out more. Our “Oval Shape” veils are 2 tier veils formed by folding the veil fabric (a large oval) and gathering only across the center. This leaves the sides hanging down by the shoulders, so the edge of the veil does not go all the way up to the comb as it does for a traditional or waterfall shape veil.
Traditional shape chiffon veils tend to hang straight down, narrow and not spread out. This is due to the chiffon being a heavier fabric. An oval shape chiffon veil will spread out a bit more, especially at fingertip or shorter lengths. The chiffon is also opaque, it’s not transparent like bridal illusion. If you want your shoulders covered an oval chiffon veil is a good choice, especially in polyester chiffon which comes wider than silk chiffon.
