Silk Chiffon is a thin woven fabric. Chiffon is cloth, unlike illusion it doesn’t have holes like a netting, so it is opaque. You can only see a shadowy vision of what’s underneath it, it’s not transparent. Chiffon is heavier than illusion, so chiffon veils are not fluffy. A chiffon veil will hang straight down flowing softly.
- A woven fabric, matte
- 100% Silk, do not get it wet
- Silk like texture, not as smooth as polyester chiffon
- Opaque, slightly less opaque than polyester chiffon
- A narrow fabric, only 42 inches wide
- Good for short to medium veils, or for a narrow look

Polyester Chiffon is a thin woven fabric like silk chiffon, only this is made of polyester. Polyester chiffon veils can get wet while silk chiffon veils cannot. Polyester chiffon is also wider, good for a longer or fuller veil. Both silk and polyester chiffon are smooth and flowing, but polyester has a little smoother texture, is a little heavier and slightly more opaque.

Transparent Vs. Opaque
Transparent bridal veil fabric is easy to see through.
Opaque fabric only show a clouded view of what’s behind it.

- Very smooth slippery texture
- Flowing, yet stiffer than the other veil fabrics
- Maximum width is 60 inches

English net veils flow and drape beautifully, giving them a similar look to Kate Middleton’s silk tulle veil only without the higher price.

- Only comes in white and ivory
- 100% polyester, good for outdoor or beach weddings
- A little thicker than bridal illusion, semi-transparent
- Drapes and flows similar to silk tulle
- Maximum width is 60 inches
