Short Veil that’s Extra Full

This short veil is an extra full custom made blusher wedding veil based on a bridal veil in photos the bride found. The bride liked that short veil because it looked so full. The way it laid and flowed had a bell shape similar to her wedding dress. Notice how the skirt of her dress and the veil have the same look. A short veil tends to look fuller than a long one. Our typical fullest veils have fabric 108 inches wide. To be sure the veil would have the shape and flow we wanted I made test veils before sewing on the 1/2 inch wide organza ribbon. 108 inches wide didn’t look full enough and the bridal illusion didn’t lay the same as in the photos she found. I made several test veils and tried them on myself and sent pictures to the bride. I tried glimmer illusion and different widths and lengths.
Since she needed a short veil I was able to turn the fabric and make test veils as wide as 236 inches. We found glimmer illusion moved more like the veil from her photos because it’s slightly stiffer than bridal illusion. After a few more tries I had a test veil close to what we wanted, but the bride and myself were not confident this was it. Rather than give up, I send that test veil to her to try on in person. With just a few adjustments I had the veil we wanted, just add ribbon and specially requested comb with longer teeth!

This is an elbow length 2 tier veil with an organza ribbon edge. The bridal veil is 28 inches long and the blusher is 26 inches. This extra full width is 150 inches instead of the usual 108 inches. The white glimmer illusion is very much like bridal illusion except it is shiny and a little stiffer. The crisper fabric helped this short veil hold it’s shape. Organza ribbon is a sheer ribbon, you can see through it as opposed to the usual solid satin ribbon. This bridal veil has 1/2″ wide white organza ribbon.
